Two roads diverged in a wood, and I... I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. - Robert Frost

Stormy Sundays is a Total Bummer

Sunday, June 22, 2008

Today’s an unusual Sunday. It’s been raining from morning till the time I’m posting this blog.

The electricity went out around 8 in the morning.  And I just engaged myself in sleeping. I slept ’til 11am. I got up because I had the urge that I should prepare food for lunch.

*Opens the fridge*

Great, there’s nothing in here. Only frozen pork and some stuff.

Our rice supply has been out since yesterday so it’s hard to think of what I should cook.

Thang God there’s Macaroni in our storage. I cooked Macaroni soup for lunch (and good enough, I don’t have to cook rice since Macaroni=carbs.)

I took a bath around 1:30pm. The water was oh so cold.

I went out to withdraw money from the bank.  I only had 50 pesos ( = one dollar) in hand. Just enough for my fare back and forth.

Arrived at the bank and it’s closed. I was so frustrated.

I walked until I reached my Aunt’s house. I borrowed money from her.

Bought my niece some medicine.

Bought some food.

Came home wet, wet, wet.

I hate this day.

Realizations on Living "Alone"

Saturday, June 14, 2008

It’s been almost a month since my Mom and my little sisters migrated to Qatar. My Dad’s a site engineer for a big Elevator/Escalator company and he availed of the so-called "Family status".

1. You get to have lots of money in hand.

CON: You get a freakin’ hard time budgeting. I would always get in the habit of overspending.

2. You feel burdened when you pay your bills.

My mom told me that I should pay the bills (electricity, water, credit card) two weeks ago. I withdrew 15 thousand pesos. After all has been paid, I only had a thousand left.

3. You get  to use the computer until the wee hours of the night.

I wasn’t able to do when Mom was here. I just wake up early and do my stuff with the little time I have left.

4. You have  the bedroom all to yourself.

Before, I shared the room with my sisters (of all the people in the world, why them? They’re girls! I want privacy! Plus they always make the room filthy).

Now, i have  the room all to myself. I can do whatever I want. I can sleep naked without thinking what ifs.

5. You get to eat whenever, wherever.

CON: You waste a lot of money.

6. You get more paranoid.

Now, I am living with my sister-in-law and my one-year old niece. And everytime I go home, I can’t help but think "What if something bad happened?"

7. You tend to sleep more.

And you also tend to sleep less.

8. You get to watch porno anytime you want.

Admit it you guys.

9. You have to do more chores.

I have to do my laundry later. o_O;

10. You get to eat pancit canton more!

What does the future hold? I dunno. What I know is that I’ll be learning more along the way.
